Art Lesson

After attempting to draw cans for last weeks IF entry, my frustration at having no formal training in art reared its head again. So I asked my husband (who does have an art and design background) to give me a few lessons on the basics. He's been a great help in showing me ways to improve my drawing, especially on how to get a better sense of perspective. The following are a couple of pages of his explanatory sketches.....

My homework and practices.....

And a much improved 'tinned tentacle'!

Don't feel bad, I am with ya on the perspective thing. I've bought a few books that have helped, especially ones geared towards comic artists. That was sweet of your hubby to share his knowledge with you!

hey I've had formal training and I STILL can't draw so don't get too down on yourself. I think you have a wonderful style and natural talent. Check out the book, "Drawing on the Right Side of Brain" by Betty Edwards, it's a great little mini-course.
