IF: Pet Peeves

I imagine a pet peeve of many children may be to have their favourite toy hung out to dry and worse still, when all their favourites get strung up at once!

As for my own pet peeves (and pet related ones at that...)

Why don't our cats realise from our reaction to mouse body parts in the house that we don't view these as 'presents'?

And will Claude please use the proper cat door instead of expecting us to let him in (and why do we keep letting him in!?)

Good work. I like your water color washes, and your characters. Very nice feel overall.

I can remember my son sitting under the clothes line waiting for his favorite blanket to dry when he was young. You have caught the essence.

great illustrations, love the cats.
They can be so contrary, my cat insists I open the window to let her in even though the door is wide open.

Excellent! You have a nice whimsical style that is very simple, childlike (in a good way), and accessable. I am confident that you'll see your work in print someday. I'd print it if I owned a publshing company! Keep up the good work. Thanks for leaving the kind comments on my blog. It's very difficult I've found to pull off colored pencil well (I think I did a decent job with that piece.) Often it looks too waxy, like crayon, which to many, looks kind of cheap and unprofessional. I still have a box of Crayolas somewhere though:) Don't be a stanger!

This is cracking me up, so funny! And adorable illustration...your cat sounds like he runs the house (just like our dogs do, ha ha!)

Lovely, Bee, those toys on the clothes line look adorable. And I always like the way you capture cats, the one jumping in the air after the mouse is my favorite. Great pose!

That's so funny and it reminds me of my sad times in childhood, when I couldn't await to get back my beloved bunny from the clothes line. great work!
I love your style!

Nice illo. I'm going to add to the cat list: when they HAVE to drink from the bathtub. (But get mad if you turn the water on too high and they get wet...)

I'm afraid I could go on and on about my pet peeves!
Thanks for the comments! I love your rabbit on the line by his ear! poor thing! And your cats! Our "Rose" leaves treasures for us regularly on the front porch!

I really like your clean, simple style and gentle colour-work - hope a publisher takes notice! I think most moms (and kids) would relate to favourite toy wash-day blues.

I love your style, very cute.
Yes, cats.. mine wakes me up at 4am. So I follow him to the kitchen, put food in his bowl, which he ignores, and then wants to be let out the door, rather than just using the cat door and letting me sleep!
